14 year old James Persyn III and his younger sister Acelin were honored with lifesaving awards by Isabella County Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski. The two took in a CMU student after she claimed to have been abducted and raped. They provided a 911 call and a safe haven for the victim. The attacker Eric Larson set fire to the home before fleeing and eventually was shot and killed by police. This is only the second award given by the Sheriff to honor the youngster's bravery.
