Language is for communication. People will learn a language if they see the need. But why do you and the DPP people relate language to ideology and think Hoklo equals Taiwanese? Since you " know and love the land and people that fed you", may I ask how many aboriginal languages you speak? Isn't it true that Mandarin is the official language used in Taiwan? But do people respect that? I don't need your respect and please save your ideology and pity for yourself.

I would repect your opinions if you replied to the argument I brought up "If your parents did not flee to Taiwan in 1949 but instead took refugee in Hong Kong. Could you imagine you now would not be able to speak Cantonese?". Unfortunately you instead chose to call names like "Hoklo chauvinism". Pity.

Sorry to say this but you have a typical Hoklo chauvinism thinking. You think those people who can't speak Hoklo don't love Taiwan. You are arrogant and egocentric like A-bian. You can't respect cultural differences and don't appreciate cultural diversity. You don't credit non-Hoklo people's contributions. You are the one should be ashamed of yourself. A-bian sucks = DPP sucks.

It's unlikely because you would be brought up in a Cantonese-speaking environment. Then why is that you can't speak "hok-lo" after so many years? Cetrainly it had to do with the KMT's Mandarin policy and then you had no intention to know and love the land and people that fed you. For that you should feel ashamed of yourself.
