  • Each year my school goes to various competitions and these five girls sing this song and each and every time they win! Like if you love this song!

  • A truly beautiful song. Delicately crafted and graciously delivered. This song has definite religious references but it doesn't push any messages down people's throats - "to ponder His death and His life eternally...". The backing musicians balance wonderfully with Mary's voice, very complementary and never competing for centre stage. (Oh.. I like the picture of the cottage by the sea and the flowers by the lake (foxtails I think) reminds me of New Zealand!)

  • I live in Ireland in Cork and i was in a singing competion and i sang this and i won

by the way this is my brothers old profile

  • love this version by my favourrite Irish singer

  • All credit to Jimmy MacCarthy, Ireland's fabulous singer/songwriter. He wrote "Ride On" which Christy Moore recorded, "No Frontiers" covered by Mary Black, "Leaving Neidin" which Maura O'connell recorded. His music is so soulful and poetic. You should check out his website and his tracks. Genius.

  • The song is about the the presence of Mary (the reference to Bright Blue Rose is a highly Catholic representation of Mary), the last part says, "Two thousand years, and still it goes, to ponder his death and his life eternally). . . yes, I am Irish and Catholic, and Mary Black is wonderful. I love the line "And I am the geek with the alchemist's stone." Magical

  • Love Love Love her voice she has to be the best!!!

  • @TheUndergroundAttack Harsh. I'm from Ireland. Fair enough I live in Scotland now, but Ireland's not awful. Just a little bit backwards.

  • @LCMS343 No, you don't. Its awful.

  • @harmoda This song ripples the water in the lake of tears deep inside me. The song is calling out to me. My whole being responds to the mystical magic music. The answer to my inner yearnings is just out of sight.

I feel my earthly body is hindered my spirit. My spirit longs to be free and soar through the Universe.

I am stardust and to the stars I must return. Thank you so much for your kind comment. Peace-JOHN
