Photos taken every 20secs using a Canon 30D (17mm Lense) with a timer remote and then processed and edited in CS5 Photoshop and Premiere Pro.

Here is a quick teaser of a future project that examines the effect of EMF around and under the power lines. The final project will use 16 light tubes and be part of a design report that ties into my final Masters Architecture project.

Please feel free to contact me about how this works and how I found out about it!

  • I want to try this some day, what is the blue light called on the end of these lights?

  • @meatisdeliciouse It's really simple to do. Make sure you go to a place which is as open as possible. Prior to this I tried in the woods where they clear the path for the lines (as it was more private) but the effect was less. As for the blue light, I'm not sure what you mean? I know in this video of mine you can see bits come up, which is actually the reflection of car headlights about 400m behind!

  • @benprince85 I was talking about those little roung bits of mettal, that before the light switches on they go buzz buzz buzz and flash blue.

  • @meatisdeliciouse ahhh. Perhaps you mean the starters for the lights? This is the bit that usually breaks on them i think. However, for this experiment you don't need them =)

I should hopefully have a full day to night timelapse involving 16 placed bulbs soon. That should make for a more interesting video!

  • @benprince85 Yes, I used to love switching the lights on and off again just to sea them do that, but I think the lights warm up and you need to let them cool down before switching them on again.
