  • One of you tubes best videos! Thanks for leaving the sound raw and as-is - gives a good feel for what its like on take-off and in flight.

  • Thanks!!! :o)

  • were do they get the parts and the know how to keep these aircraft in the air ,, im sure you can,t go to your local autozone and buy a rebuilt carb for that thing

  • They get the parts specially from a company, these are owned by several people who maintain them worldwide mostly museums...cost tons of money to keep them in the air but they are well worth it!

  • Great footage. Captures the experience!

  • Thanks!

  • are all the guns loaded?

  • the second engine that was started is not balanced right and i surprized that the pilot didn't feel that vib.

  • awesome video. thanks for leaving the sound alone. most of the videos with music take away from the sounds of that wonderful aircraft. nothing like the roar of 4 massive radial engines. i flew in a b17 once myself for an hour. lets just say it was the loudest music i ever heard. i enjoyed every second of it, and would do it again in a minute. problem is, it isnt cheap

  • Wow that is amazing.

  • they are flying history lessons. i hope they can continue to fly. its not cheap, but it needs to be done. the sights and sounds of a Boeing b17 are irreplaceable.

  • just think about all the brave air men who died during ww2 flying the b17.those men have my deepest respect.

  • Nice video. I was fortunate enough (well, yes, I had to pay...these guys are expensive to keep flying as everyone knows) to ride in the Aluminum Overcast (maintained by the EAA) and it is a thrill. We even had our own Memphis Bell moment when the crew couldn't get the left main gear down. Our 25 min. scheduled ride turned in to 45 min., but all ended well. The men who flew in these planes during WWII have my total respect! B17's are a MAJOR reason the war turned in the allies favor.

  • whao beautiful airplane
