Total Internal refraction, where light is reflected back into medium(glass/water) at the boundary of 2 mediums with a different refractive Index(RI). if light strike's the boundary at greater than the critical angle(usually going from a dense to less dense medium ie; from water to air). See Fibre Optic theory.

    Glycerol RI = 1.4729

    Air RI = 1.000293

After a spring cleaning, our neighbor came over for a BBQ. By accident he walked into, and then though, our sliding glass door. There was no glycerin anywhere...just blood!

    -Thanks for the video.

Glycerin is chemically very stable if stored correctly, is likely to work after expiry date as manufacturers are required to label products. So they "play safe" and label on the side of caution.

Can this effect expire if glycerins expiration date ends if it has one?
