  • They didn't have time to react, I would have done the same thing. His partner was almost dragged by the car, he stopped everything by shooting the person.

  • Yeah, shooting the tires wouldnt stop the car, it could still move even with four flats

  • Why did the cops exit there own vehicles until they knew for 100% certainly that he the robbers stolen car was unable to drive?

  • @ObsessedWthJason I'd just let go. No sense in killing someone.

  • @collinsl02 now if you talking about a engine that they are designing right now or just just came out, then thats different. but probably any engine that you severly overheated would either seize or the block would crack. that would be neat to see the newspaper article. i have never heard of something like that. iron and steel engines would not ever survive something like that, unless it was only for a short while (under 20 minutes max, under 2,300 rpm)

  • @collinsl02 thats what i said. do you know how hot a engine would get if it didnt have water in it? like 400 degrees. the piston would expand faster than the clinder walls, it would distort the piston, then the piston would get so warped that the engine would sieze. now the engine could run at high rpm for a short while, but it would still destroy the engine. im close to a master mechanic and have been rebuilding engines and performance building engines for 8 years now, i have my facts straight.

  • @dnl5649 I meant Coolant, not oil. Please check your facts before posting. Source: Motoring Column in major national newspaper (I forget which one now)

  • @collinsl02 no car is designed to run for any time without coolant. it would sieze up. and that wouldnt be a safety feature.

  • Good job Officers!

  • First of all dont run from the police. Second of all if you do run and get cornered by police then good chase but its over give up like a man. Those officers had maybe 3 seconds to to make that call. They made the right call.

  • that cop was opening the door, dude stepped on gas peddle, officer stumbles, partner shoots driver dead. Great story, officer was a minor danger if anything

  • I believe there is one car that was on the market a few years back (about 1998/2000) that claimed it could drive across the sahara with no coolant. It's all down to modern engine management techniques.
