Official western numbers say 600k S-viets plus 55k US against 1000k N-viets and 1000k civilians. Official eastern numbers say 600k S-viets plus 75k US against 500k N-viets and 2000k civilians. They both lie of course, so its somewhere in the middle.

On the other hand numbers dont tell you the truth. On the eastern front of WWII 2000k german KIA:s cost the russians 6000k KIA:s (and 22 000k civilians), and yet the soviets won.

@profanum88 we never lost any major battles. the only losses were small ambush firefights. even when the Vietcong attacked hundreds of major cities around the country at once, we won every single one of those battles for those cities. Another thing we lost Vietnam i understand that. My point was that our forces were superior in the fight. Wars can be won with firepower and in the case of Vietnam with politics.
