Sevendust - Forever Dead

New guitar!!! New amp!!! The guitar is a Dean Hardtail Select. I switched out the stock bridge pickup for a Dimarzio Super Distortion. I now play through a Randall RM100 head going into a Mesa Boogie 2x12 cabinet. The Randall's modules are the Blackface for my clean channel, the Ultra for my main distortion channel, and the Ultra XL for my solo channel. The amp is mic'd with a cheap condenser microphone.

Any added FX/EQ, or just straight amp tone?

@TheRetronator I used the Ultra module with the only effect being the POD's version of the Ibanez Tube Screamer. I think I used the Ultra XL for the solo with a Digitech Whammy pedal at the end.

@djcrazyjimmy Ah, I'll have to look those up. Since this video I've been pretty happy with the SM57 I've been borrowing, but eventually I'll have to put out and buy a mic. Thanks for the suggestions!

You nailed this song, but the tone is horrible. A tried and true mic that you'll find in almost every recording studio in the world is the Shure SM57. If you use that and put it directly in front of one of the cones about 9 inches away, the tone will be MUCH better. You might even ask yourself "WTF was I thinking?!"

I've watched this video countless times. I can't help it. I'm mezmerized by the fluid movement of the human hand and it's ability to move so damn fast!!! I'm fairly new to the electric guitar. I started on a classical guitar and now I have a pick in my hand. I received a LTD guitar for Christmas and I'm in love. Thanks for the help and encouragement.
