Even PBS no longer produces programming of this caliber. The actors of today don't have the same training; thank goodness that through dvd and film they shall live on forever. Edward Hardwicke who following David Burke as Dr. Watson passed away on May 16, 2011.
Ooooh!! Jeremy Brett introduced by Vincent Price. Love it! Holmes and Price are forever linked. I do believe this may have aired prior to Vincent playing Professor Ratigan - a character based strongly on the very villian he is describing in this epsiode. Never knew Vincent introduced half of Jeremy Brett's run as Holmes. Cool!
Wonderful to see. I was first introduced to Holmes through these PBS Mystery broadcasts. Brings back alot of fine memories. It also made me a fan of Vincent Price as well.

Great introductions to t.v. shows always add to the best of the show. And we're on the apex here!

very true. but in this vid, price added a syllable (and mispronounced it): mor-i-AIR-i-ty is what he said, but it's spelled mor-i-AR-ty. *shrugs*
