Rosianna, do you think you're going to try to get one of your novels published sometime in the near future? I think I speak for a lot of people when I say I love hearing what you have to say in your videos and would jump at the chance to read a book written by you as well. :)

@MeinKraft1 It was about perceived "gifts" the Native gave the Europeans, which were actually intended as barter. The Europeans didn't understand that thus giving rise to the slur.

@MsMyrmaid actually it refers to the Indians giving land to the colonists that didn't belong exclusively to them. It would be like giving away something you shared with someone else and that someone else trying to reclaim it.

I absolutely love these videos :)

Pandas are deadly. (Cute with Chris references ftw.)

I can't say that I give GIFTS expecting something in return (although my parents do that and encourage me to do the same, but I don't), but I have friends whom I always treat with kindness. I consider them to be my friends and they consider themselves to be my friends. So I always try to be nice to them, wishing that they would at least acknowledge it, but they take it for granted instead...

I recognise that feeling your talking about. I'm feeling it right now. I drank too much yesterday.
Umm, this might not be as well know in the UK, but in Canada the phrase Indian Giver is generally considered pretty offensive. Since it comes from earlier colonial times and is generally associated with the various ways the Europeans were complete dicks to the Native Americans.

@MsMyrmaid Well that's what I was trying to put across and probably failed at, the idea that traditionally we see "Indian Giver" as a bad thing where in reality it just reflects a totally different and in my view preferable system of keeping gifts in motion.

I think we might be wearing the same nail polish! Is it perchance "For Audrey" by China Glaze? (I love it anyway because it's a ref to Breakfast at Tiffany's, but it's SUCH a pretty blue anyway).
