I think what makes the ending particularly poignant is the epilogue at 5:33. The narrator says that "weapons called mobile suits, including the gundams, were never seen again"- which relates to our own reality, insofar that a gundam series like this has never been seen again either. Kinda sad because as this series drew to a close, so did our childhood.

Call me overly sentimental but Gundam Wing is anime closest to my heart. It is so well balanced in terms of character, plot, artwork, music, etc. With the new novel being released and all, I thought I'd come back and rewatch this epic movie. I'm so relieved and happy to see that there are still so many GW fans sticking around. =) Long live Gundam Wing!
