She was mysterious, and amazingly beautiful. She led a tragic life, and it's interesting to learn about her. She will be famous for years and years... because she was BeYoNd beautiful!

MM had work done, Hollywood made Norma into a beauty, dyed her hair,fake mole,did her chin,breast implants,nose job,cleaned up her hairline,and did her eyelids. So my pick is Briggite Bardot

@doetim That's the problem with most beautiful actresses, they are never ever taken seriously and are usually typecasted, as if beautiful women can do nothing else but be sexy. Yes, they were both huge and known for their sex appeal. If you talk about fame though, it is Marilyn who was the most famous in the 50's. Brigette and Elizabeth can have the 60's. And yes, Monroe was a very talented actress because of her versatility and range. She was a great comedic and dramatic actress and singer.

@ThePharaoho We're not debating who's the better actress here so don't give me that "marilyn won this & that, what has Brigitte won" crap! It's not like MM was known as a great dramatic actress, both were known for there sex appeal and image, not their acting. Why do MM fanatics have a hard time digesting the fact that from the late 50's on BB was more famous than MM globally as well as in the US.

@doetim And Marilyn was nominated for a BAFTA award. If that's not worldwide recognition and fame, I don't know what the hell is...what has Briggite Bardot won?

@doetim Incorrect, Marilyn Monroe did have a rival in the 50's and 60's, and her name was Elizabeth Taylor. Monroe was famous everywhere and she was a very talented actress and model. BB may be famous in Europe but here in America which is the largest pool for entertainment and home of hollywood, she is rarely ever mentioned. Everyone here knows who Marilyn Monroe was. She is the prototype movie star. She won 2 golden globes, the Italian David di Donatello award, and the French Crystal Star.

BB and Pam Anderson have similar looks, they both are sexy, but Marilyn looked like a porcelain China doll, she was gorgeous!

Brigitte Bardot does NOT compare to Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn was much prettier.. Brigitte almost scares me. Had she've not worn so much eyeliner, maybe she would've been prettier.

1. At MM's peak she was the biggest star in america

2. At BB's peak she was the biggest star on the planet

3. MM did have some surgeries

4. BB has always looked up to MM

5. MM's early and tragic death elevated her already legendary status

6. BB's influence on fashion & sexuality second to none
