The sound level of the video jumps when she gets toward the top of the staff, and is muted when the line is lower. I would love to hear this with Caballe's own dynamics, which are beautifully varied and controlled. Her technique is impeccable, and her artistry is often underrated, but in ample evidence here. She is truly among the greatest 20th century singers.

Ravel would have been speechless when faced with such sensitivity. Despite a very minor mistake in the first few bars ( or is it the edition used?) The Amen is heartbreaking. So beautiful! Caballe a very great and instinctive artist. Thank you!

When did she do this recital? It looks the 1990s, but her voice sounds much younger. What a miracle she is! Thank you so much for posting this.

Indeed what a great interpretation of this song. Pianist must have been Miguel Zanetti. Unfortunately the sound quality is varying all the time. Maybe you should upload the clip again.
