  • Is that a young Mahler conducting?! ;)

Albert Vicente

  • @Brother2Xexox It was a joke... I was merely pointing out that he had a different eye brow movement for each note.

  • @KezmeisterG I admit that his eyebrows look silly, but I would like to disagree with the notion of a "correct" fingering, especially for piccolo. I use four different fingerings for C# above the staff alone. The one I use depends on how sharp, loud, brilliant etc. I need to be in the context of the piece and ensemble.

  • Maravilloso...maestro Shostakovich.

  • I never knew that to play different notes on the piccolo you actually have to move your eye brows in a certain manner rather than use correct fingering. Refer to 5:31 for a better understanding.

  • I wish Disa had a better reed day, but great rendition and awesome low brass, however.

  • Hermosa interpretación de esta sinfonía :D es una de mis favoritas... saludos a los que subieron este vídeo ;)

  • Just how breathless this director is!

    I love Shostakovich.

With so a good instument, so answering orchesta...

Maestro doesnt feel anything about Shostakovich.

    His stick is nervless.

  • Performance par excellence of this gargantuan masterpiece which is broken off only in two pieces. Thanks so much for sharing.
