Back in the Post-Carter days, a lot of companies had a lot of money to spend on "Yeah-Rah Team" business meetings. I was with TriTel Productions at the time and wrote about 15 songs that we sold over and over again as the motivational messages to many of Chicago's Fortune 500 companies.
I was fortunate to work with many talented singers like Cathy Breslin, Tom Krow, Jan Ruby, Drew Patterson and Neil Zielinski.
"Take on Tomorrow" was recorded by 3 different singers for 3 different clients, but it was most successful when the show actually went on the road. The Napa United sales people heard it every morning for about 4 days. On the final day, the band track started and the singer (Cathy Breslin) did it live. I guess they were surprised; I wasn't there.
With the era of the internet, that genre is gone. Sales teams meet via web conferencing and if they want to motivate the sales team, they fire the person with the lowest numbers.
Those days were a blast, but now they are over. It is time to get on with the rest of our lives.
Cathy auditioned on a day where 20 other sinngers auditioned, and she clearly beat out every single one of them hands down. The last I knew, she was working for a "Motivational Speaker" company.

I knew Cathy Breslin in college. I hadn't thought about her in 25 years until I saw a similar name on another web site, and suddenly I remembered Cathy. I Googled her and I ended up here. What a powerful voice -- reminds me of Pat Benatar crossed with Patty Smyth ("The Warrior"). I wonder what she's up to these days.
