This stage was the most difficult one even if compared with the final boss in Gradius 3!!

@Lycanthrokeith The lizard core, also exclusive to the arcade version. Basically, it's a core with two flexible arm cannons, in addition to the canons in its center. It's extremely difficult, mainly because it has no fixed attack/firing pattern whatsoever. It's as if a second player is controlling it, trying to destroy you.

This is the Arcade version, which has a difficulty level approximately equal to hitting a dragon with an arrow while it is on fire during a rainstorm in China on turn the air to smoke day. In other words, impossibly hard. The SNES version was made much easier, but lost three of the levels in the Arcade version, the cube rush, the organic stage, and the three-d stage.
An extra stage was added, however, and it is also a high speed stage.
