  • The turnout for the 40th anniversary of Monterey was not all that great, but it was fun. Barry still tours in Europe, Australia and New Zealand every year plus his US shows, his audience still loves him and his stories.

  • But almost totally irrelevant when the original version (and far better IMHO) was by the actual writer of the song - P.F. Sloan who also wrote and recorded "Sins of a Family".

  • But since P.F.Sloan visited Barry last year to hear him perform with John York and approved of his version, your comment is irrelevant.....

  • I was there, thanks for posting this.

  • It was a great show, thanks to Barry for allowing me to video tape it.

  • This song will live on...............

  • Very good!!!

  • I met Barry McQuire in 1976 down in the little tiny Santa Ana TV studio where TBN started out. He still had the long hair, tie-dyed shirts, sandals, etc. Terry Talbot... what an amazing song writer. Sad that he basically disappeared when the 80s came around.

  • I can remember the first time I heard this great song at the radio and the single in the music shop display. Now I feel a bit uncomfortable seeing Barry singing for a such lttle audience.

  • Thanks

  • Oh how I remember the radical 60's. It was the best of times and it was the worst of times.

  • We have learned very little since 1965.

  • Unbelievable !

  • The best protest song ever - someone's loaded up a version of this sung by Maguire aged 74 ... it's good too.
