The point of this commercial was to inform U.S. citizens who reside abroad that they can vote. Believe it or not, many U.S. citizens living outside the U.S. are not aware that they can continue to vote in federal elections according to their last residence in the U.S. Others may not know that they need to register and request their ballots using the Federal Post Card Application form. It is only when people know their rights that the decision to vote or not becomes a real choice.
