It was covered on "Adieu False Heart" by Linda Ronstadt and Ann Savoy. That started me searching and the hits on Dimming of the Day sealed it. Richard Thompson is a great musician.

I just got into RT after seeing him in Nashville from the front row recently. Wow! This guy has it all-great guitar, great voice and fantastic lyrics! He is must see if you get a chance!

He is just SOOOOOO cute when he cuts those eyes to the side - I mean puppy dog adorable

If Pete Townsend had joined the Grass Roots......

@marvy1118 I think that there were at least 2 songs on Mock Tudor that would have lent themselves well as a covers, this song and Cooks Ferry Queen. I would have liked to have heard the old Crowded House cover Bathsheba Smiles, and I wish the late Johnny Cash could have gotten his hands on Cooks Ferry Queen...a healthy Cash with a good chugging band...I think both would have worked.

Yep, that's Teddy Thompson.

isn't that young bloke in the band , his son?

I can't believe no one has done a cover version of this song yet!
Brilliant RT -- performer, singer, songwriter, the man does no wrong musically.
