Apologies for the audio/video quality. Using my phone since I couldn't find the camcorder. :-/
This is my new turn signal controller design specifically for the Ariel Atom (although it would probably work in other similar vehicles). The stock toggle switch is replaced with a waterproof, auto-centering momentary switch and a small control box. It only requires a power connection (preferably to the switched 12V power bus).
When the switch is pressed briefly, the controller provides a short duration 'lane change/passing' signal (lasts three 'flashes' then automatically cancels) as found on European vehicles.
A 'long' press on the turn signal switch (hold it for over half a second) latches the appropriate turn signal on. Pressing the switch again will cancel the signal, or turning the wheel and bringing it back to center (AKA, like every other car around) will also cancel the turn signal. The sensitivity of how far the wheel needs to be turned before canceling is adjustable.
Hi, These famed gadgets reached locostbuilders.co.uk - I want one of these for my kit car - where can I buy?
Cheers, Dave

@loggyboy Hey Dave-- the first ones should be ready next week with an Atom 2 specific sensor mount. I'm still deciding how best to do the "anything else" sensor boards, but I should have it sorted out by the end of the month. Contact me by email: signal (at) embeddedengineeringllc (dot) com
