Now Republicans are booing Soldiers!

My thoughts about the way in which the audience booed a gay Soldier during the last Republican presidential debate.

@mikesaechao1 It sounds nice and convenient, but no American Soldier can ever ignore the UCMJ and do as he/she pleases. That behavior would be the antithesis to what being a Soldier is all about. If you're going to wear the uniform you have to abide by the rules and regulations that come with it, and more importantly, by the obligation to always honor the uniform by doing so. Anything else is a disservice to yourself and to the Nation you serve. DADT is history now, fortunately.

@armyveteran101st don't get it twisted, i only meant screw the ucmj when it comes to freedom of speech. there are other things i would take out of the ucmj but i don't feel like getting into that right now. look, the ucmj won't die for u. it's just rules, the politicians won't die for u. the civilians at home calling your fellow soldiers fags won't die for u. but your buddy wearing the same uniform would. where do your allegiances lie?

@mikesaechao1 That's a nonsensical point of view. The law is the law and it must be obeyed, regardless of whatever your personal preferences or points of view may be. If you don't like the law, get involved in the political and legislative processes and push for change in the law through civilized and reasonable methods. Advocating for anarchy and lawlessness just because you don't like the law is something that would have worked in the Stone Age, but not today. Get educated, bud.

when people ask me if i am gay or not, i hate answering because any way i say it, it sounds bad. I could say "im not gay" but it always sounds wrong, because i know they wouldnt treat me well if i was gay. Its a shame gay people have to deal with this ignorance, hell, we all have to deal with idiots like that and i am sick of it too.

@billymayer1000 This might be easy for me to say, (because I'm not in that situation), but if I were gay and people asked me about it, I would be open and honest about the whole thing. I think that it is worse to lie and try to hide your reality than to just grab the bull by the horns and tell the truth. Yes, there are always going to be idiots out there who can't handle it, but by telling the truth and showing who you really are you put yourself on a higher place automatically. Shoot for that!

@GordonWayneWatts Being gay is a physiological condition that has NOTHING to do with religious nonsense like sin or temptation. Religion has NOTHING to do with this issue of equality for all. In fact, religion is a negative and toxic factor that always aggravates situations like these and injects nothing but discord, intolerance, and hatred into the debate. Please refrain from bringing up religion when you post comments to any of my videos.

Gay or not gay is irreverent in light of the sacrifice solders make in putting their life on the line to defend your country. They deserve respect regardless of what sexual orientation they may be for the truth is the only defense you have against the tyranny of your own Government and that of others are the solders sworn to protect the very foundation of you nation itself. Next time you see a solder thank him or her for it.
