This is Min Young Park the dancer, not Park Min Young the actress. Min Young Park performed at the Angkor-Gyeongju World Culture Expo 2006 at Angkor Wat, Cambodia. That same year she won the Gold Medal in the 36th Dong-A Dance Competition in South Korea. This video is taken from that winning performance. She has also performed in England, Ireland, and France.

All that is known of Sem Touch are a handful of songs that she left behind and a radio interview of her by Houy Meas. If any photos of her exist they haven't been discovered yet and made public. She almost certainly died at the hands of the Khmer Rouge. They tried to wipe out every trace of her life and the lives of every other Cambodian singer and musician. They failed. Their music lives on and is being revived by new generations of musicians and listeners.

  • Thank you for this Jupitriod. This music touched my heart. I didn't know his lady existed. And I just wikipedia-ed the khemer Rouge. I didn't know how bad it was. It's heartbreaking.

  • @notevenhere Thank you for your excellent comment. Yeah, when I was growing up I heard about Cambodia on the news but didn't pay much attention because I was a kid. Now I know about how my country, the US, dropped the equivalent of 5 Hiroshima bombs worth of explosives onto Cambodia. I love the Khmer people and am appalled at what some of the people in my country are capable of.

Sem Touch is still a very obscure singer. She can still touch the hearts of people. Her art lives on.

  • her voice rings like a beautiful bell

  • @jeffmagic32 That's close to what I've said about Ros Sereysothea. I think Sereysothea's voice is a little more pure and bell like, but Sem Touch is still my favorite because of the strong emotion in her singing.

  • Congratulation! you are amazing dancer. Yes I never heard about this song before it make me feeling blue. I still have some songs that I wrote but I haven't give it away yet. May be one day, when I meet the right one.

  • Hi, I'm not the dancer. I'm just some guy who likes to add music he likes to videos he likes.

Yes, it's a very sad song. Many of Sem Touch's songs are. They make me sad, too, but I can't stop listening to them. You should share your songs with the world. So should I. I'm working on making my songs better. Thank you for the comment! :)
