The Thunderclown is the title track in a four-song 7" Momus EP due to be released exclusively in early 2011 by Tona Serenad Records, a Swedish label specialising in vinyl one-offs and limited editions. The song was written around samples provided by John Henriksson from the label. Pre-ordering for the limited edition 7-inch will begin shortly. The video was shot around the Imaike station in Osaka, in Airin (formerly Kamagasaki), Japan's biggest slum and shanty town for the homeless and jobless.

  • This video is an improvement over others like "Frilly Military" and some of the "Hypnoprism" ones. Sometimes I think your videos look far too rudimentary for the music presented.

This one conjures up "Frilly Military", but improves on it by far. It's also good that you've integrated the lyrics in the visuals. Swell!

  • oh this is wonderful ! Just superb the deranged muted trumpet [ or is it a trombone ?]

This is the second song of yours I found today.... this has cheered me up no end

once more Mr. M , thank you for sharing !

    kudos !

  • such strange, off-temp sounds, combined with warped reversed video sequence (of Momus himself?) riding through an interesting town. Very worth watching.

  • Once again I'm moved to a state of abandonment, it's this sound, these bouncy, synthy expressions of telling us how you feel that is just so effective and memorable, I recall Hypnoprism's thin crooners like Charm Song and the title track immediately.

Very impressive use of the samples, the end is nice when all the multi-coloured harmonies come together.

  • I must say that Momus´ latest songs presented on youtube is brilliant! I Can´t wait to get my hands on a Momus vinyl release. Greetings from Norway
