Wow, that was a healthy handful he had there, now in 2011 a bunch of basil like that shown @ 1:50 would easily run me about 10-12 dollars.
Exactly why I am growing 4 different basil varieties in my own little patch of zone 7 Americana. I dry a basil medley that is simply awesome.
The abundant little plant blesses us all.

LOL ending... "See you next time"
Wont be a next time because you wont have a video on basil now that you chopped it like a lumber jack...

@ Drasvt :
I gave my father-in-law a basil plant, and it has lived for a couple years now, I don't see it dying anytime soon. The secret was that he covered it with a plastic bag during the extreme cold (frost). We are in Southern California though, so the worst we get is 40-50 degrees during the winter.

Thanks, that was really clear.

Hi I am growing sweet genovese basil, tumbler tomatoes and courgettes in pots. Could you possibly tell me some other vegeatbles/frutis/ herbs that suit pots really well?
Can you grow a basil plant for a few years in a hydroponic system if you just keep cutting back the flowers? is this possible?
