  • since i am very familiar with tubes (i build tube amps) and vintage stuff i really doubt this is real! i believe it is a video montage made with after effects. no TV set from 1949 has such a clear picture since they had only 525 line raster. check wiki for NTSC

  • OMG !! this tv set was restored completely and you can find more about this project just going to GOOGLE for "Raytheon Porthole Angelo". The TV works perfectly both on 525 or 625 lines, fed by a DVD player, thru a channel converter and with a World Converter (it converts signal from 625i to 525i lines, but it is not really necessay since it works perfectly also on 625i). If you want to see a better picture on YouTube look for "Liberace Nola Zenith" ..so you better look around before doubting :-)

  • parabéns pela tv!!! e ainda escutando pink floyd, merlhor ainda.

  • I fail to see the point of posting this fake video.

Whoever did it is obviously too young to know what this tube was capable of.

  • there is another thing which proofs i am not stupid. i graduated this summer at one of the best Film academys in england. see my videochannel, there are many videos i have done in the classroom. my teacher was christopher wollard (lord of the rings) and with my diploma as professional cameraman / technician i think i know pretty much more about cameras, technic and special effects then any regular guy or wannabe film professional. i call myself an expert with confidence. this video is fake!

  • @ftipo Rubbish this was done with software, the tubes were not that good in 1949, even with a standards converter and I've been in electronics for well over 20 years - total fake

  • @rockangel1967 Plus the fact if you are filming a TV screen with a TV camera where is the raster interference and why doesn't the picture go out of sync - agreed definitely fake

  • Somebody turned on the lights at 1:52.

  • Circular TV screen. Interesting.

  • Intresting tv screen shape.

  • Great picture on a very old set.
