@fludblud the chinese took very heavy casualties though and were in terrible shape after this.

@TheSteffen1223 no they didnt. despite the heroic actions of the marines on the ground, the chinese still won the battle and managed to push all UN forces out of north korea. mcarthur had gotten into his head that he was invincible and ended any chance of victory and nearly lost the entire 1st marine division as well, a fact that eventually led to his dismissal.
by all means honor their sacrifice but dont let the semantics blind you to the incompetent leadership that led to such terrible odds.

A local army sergeant was killed at chosin in 1950 and his remains were found last year. Now they're finally coming home after 60 years. Joseph Bowen is his name.

my grandpa served with the USMC field artillery in chosin, inchon landings and both battles for the capture of seoul and many more battles

It's sad but true that The Korean War is the forgotten war. Imagine going through that hell and returning home to a country that didn't even notice there was a war going on.
