This is Lolly my Senegal Parrot. Here is what you'll hear on this video: Good Morning, Sweetie Girl, La La La Sweetie, Baby Girl, Greg, Gimme Kiss (smooches), La La La Baby, Scoobydoo, Pretty Girl hmmm, Oh Mister Bear, Pretty Boy, I'll be right back, Go Nite-Nite, Come'ere, Sweeite Pie, Love you. This is just some of his large vocabulary. I think he's one of the best talking Senegals I've ever heard. And he's only 3 years old.

  • we have a quaker and a conure

and my daughter has been told she can get her own bird and i think we

going to go with a senegal

do you think thats a good choice

  • @zomBDeath61

If you get a Senegal my advice would be to get one from a reputable breeder and not a Petstore. The good breeders make sure that the birds are well socialized and are medically sound. Senegals are great birds. I have five of them. One thing to know about them, they typically bond to one person only and they choose who it is. So, just because your daughter gets a Senegal it might not mean that he will bond with her when he gets a bit older. Just something to keep in mind. :)

  • do Senegals scream much louder than Green Cheek Conures?

  • @randompolo

I think they do. Others may disagree, but I have five of them. Perhaps with one alone it would be different. Mine tend to try to out-scream the others. But, that isn't the whole picture either. As with all birds, they can scream. Just to varying degrees. I hope that answers your question. If not, just write me again. Thanks for watching my video. :)

  • these senegal parrot have bad behavior they like to bite ppl and stuff....thats why i keep mine in the cage...on thing i can tell ppl they like habanero peppers!!

  • @exzt212

I'm sorry that you feel that way about your bird. I have 5 Senegals, and none of them have bad behavior. I work with them all the time, and try to understand what they need in order to be happy. Caging a bird all the time will not help, but only add to behavior problems such as biting. It makes the bird cage agressive, and then it will bite. I feel bad for you, and mostly for your poor bird that is only it's cage. How sad for you both.

  • He seems to really really want Greg to give him kisses xD

  • @exzt212 I also have a Senegal Parrot and he is so sweet. He doesnt bite very often and when he does its more so just to get your attention and not to hurt you. I have never been bitten hard by him. He is very sweet and cuddly. I agree with Sootykitty keeping your bird caged will only add to your problems. If you start working with your bird you will see the behavior problems go away and you will find these birds are very great pets and more so friends/family members. give him a chance!!!

  • @sootykitty hi impresive parrot.

A pet store told me that sells senegal parrots for about 100 euros=150 usd.Is this right? because I heard that are more expensive?do you know how much?

  • @randompolo Hi. I have had a female senegal parrot since 2000 and she is generally a quiet bird. She makes most of her noise in the morning and evening. She takes a siesta in the afternoon. I have been trying to retrain my parrot to NOT shriek when she can't see me by giving her praise when she is quiet. We'll see how it goes.

Robbie had been caged a lot when he was at his previous owners. He was very aggressive when he came to our family but hard work, patience and a strong will let him become tame in the end. He still bites but he never bites me. We didn't get him to accept a partner though and now he is old and blind and can't fly because he's a feather plucker too. But we never, ever caged him only when he was still able to fly and we left the house.
