The tour continues from here through to the laboratory grid and illustrates how the open-plan design approach has also been adopted in laboratory design. See how the combined functions of Immunology and histology have been merged into this light and airy laboratory.

Moving outside, see the pond feature with its ecological installations. This is in fact a Sustainable Urban Drainage System required by the local planning authority. See how it will offer staff and visitors a pleasant area to enjoy al fresco dining!

You will be shown the south facing elevation with a louvre blind type system. This is known as a brise soleil, a system designed to minimise heat gain from the sun.
