Along with Maria Callas, Leontyne Price is undoubtedly one of the greatest Verdian sopranos of the twentieth century. Besides having a voice that is both full-bodied and agile, her vocal range is freakish. She possesses the unusual ability to project from smoky lows to rich middle tones to the most ethereal highs. When you combine all of this with her superior musicianship, great dramatic ability and fabled High C, you get heaven on earth.

  • It's crazy how powerful her voice is the upper fifth and lower sixth octave notes. And her lower register is so dark for a soprano.

  • @Devotedlamb19 Now this is a TRUE spinto. The voice blooms as it goes higher with a full-bodied sound. Can you believe they call The Noise a spinto soprano LOL?

  • I loved the B3...what song is that?

  • @FIRSTENOR18 Check the channel description :)

  • A very revealing video about Miss Price vocal splendor, the best soprano of the twentieth century, one can't but kneel, listen and worship. Thank you very much, great job!

  • @Onegin65 Thanks for watching :)

  • Grande Soprano VErdiano...è un onore Miss Price ("")-_-("")

  • summertime *sob sob*

  • My favourite of your videos so far - amazing! Thank you!

  • I LOVE LEONTYNE! That D6 is awesome. Her voice is so powerful and rich. My goodness lol. And you used the flat symbol instead of the lowercase b!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • Her voice is powerful too. I love her lower chest register and upper chest register, it's very sophisticated. Her head voice is out of this world!

  • Very gorgeous voice!

  • @BZBlaner That woman couldn't belt a note above D5 with proper support and resonance even in her prime. A soprano? She was barely a mezzo-soprano at her best. Above Bb5, her voice went into a tiny (yet pretty) falsetto and her lower register was her comfort zone.
