great voice....so under-rated.....

One of the greatest voices of this century or last century. Very few can sing as clearly or have a much of a range as Linda Eder. It's never easy to sing someone elses signature song, but she does it with grace. Liza would be proud.

The problem with Linda is that she has a big voice in mid and upper register but she's boring to death. A performer is not only holding big notes and Linda is a proof of that fact.

@athlonamd999 I just think she had a few cocktails before she sang!

@TheSpencer1960 agree, but if you've seen her 3 x live then you probably have picked up as I have that she isn't good in a lower range, but her voice mid and upper range is aMAZING!!!

She is amazingly gifted in her soprano voice, I have seen her in concert twice and she is very, very gifted trust me. She just doesn't have a comfortable and natural lower range, (atleast not from what I have heard live or studio) so the lower notes in this song aren't pronunciated well or sang well and I sorta think it threw her off for her whole performance, but the last note is more what I expect and love to hear from Ms. Eder :-)

Have everyone one of her albums (even Peter Pan) seen her in concert 3 times and this is worst I have ever her her sing!

(cont.) ABC was so unhappy with having to air the hot mess that ended up happening that they cut out before the song was over to get away from it. That was the highlight of the telecast that someone in the booth made that decision.

@dtrinc There isn't one, sadly. The folks in charge had a brain aneurysm and tried to change the song to Empire State of Mind, but they had some poor girl sing it--not Alicia Keys and Jay-Z that's for sure. That might've made it bearable (not great) but why change a classic song sung for a classic race? I say bring back Frank! It was really a shame. I didn't know it had only been the official song since 1997. It feels like it's been forever.

do you have this year's New York, New York?! Haven't heard/seen it yet... thanx!
Thought I'd ask before I went ahead, but this performance is so Lively so I'd Really Love to add it to my collection of favorite videos, With Your permission. If I can't I tottally understand, it's Your personal video.
