Kyle is doing great...thanks for asking! He is 18 now...whew time flies. He is nonverbal and somethings he cannot understand. I try to keep things very simple and I do push at least one new thing everyday. He sure is the love of my life!

When my son was younger he learned sign & that was wonderful. At about 6 he started speaking 1-2 word sentences but now his vobcabulary is growing everyday. He will be 14 on Sept. 12th. Fragile X is more common then you realize. I know 7 families

Oh that is wonderful! Kyle still doesn't talk but he sure knows how to get his point across. He does know some sign but I still have him going to speech therapy. I was told that he would never talk and just face facts, by a speech therapist at that. But I found a wonderful person that still works with him and is not giving up on him. Maybe someday he'll surprise us all and just start talking!

Your video is lovely... My so Lucas has Fragile X also. He is 16. He was just diagnosed last year. My older son has Fragile X also. I know how special they are. They are both the loves of my life. I am also blessed to be their mother. We need to email each other!

Sure it can be a crappy thing when you have a child that is disabled. But I think it's about how you cope with it, how you can handle with all that. It doesn't have to be a crappy thing, but i can figure it's not always an easy thing to face. I think this mom is a pretty strong women who has dealt with this very good. I can honestly say i look up to such strong people! It doesn't always have to be a struggle, it can be a joy as well..
