  • @securezone apparently can't afford cisco. If you could afford the best it is obvious you would use the best.

  • @ChrisFederico demo of what? performance benchmark?

cisco is not the fastest almost in any vertical (except some really expensive stuff like CRS family).

when it comes to features, ease of management, etc - cisco isn't the best.

cisco only markets end-to-end stuff and how that can lower TCO -- BULLSHIT.

i've installed/maintained multiple vendor products and cisco's shit is least appeasing.

cisco is only good at increasing the price-per-port though. they do good marketing.

  • @securezone You should really see a demo before making any decision. I saw a demo the other day and I couldn't believe what I was seeing . They are not as expensive as you might think . The most expensive pieces obviously are the fabric interconnects . They are really impressive ... No other blade solution is doing this . Check it out

  • -1 for not giving price details on the UCS.

you must be fair and treat UCS as you treated non Cisco solutions.

I noticed that you avoided mentioning prices as soon as you started talking about Cisco's solutions, namely: unified fabric and UCS.

But I do thank you for giving an introduction to Cisco's solution. Honeslty, I won't use that as the cost doens't pay off yet.

  • The Dell M910 blade can accommodate 512GB RAM - more than the Cisco full-width blade.

I can accommodate 3x different redundant fabrics including CNA's.

  • Great presentation that summarized the basics and benefits of UCS. Enjoyed the presentation.

  • Nice Work

  • Very Good presentation! Thanks.

  • Great intro, thanks!

  • great job, thanks!
