Glad to see that now The Philippines IS really part of SEA, not anymore a "western" island in asian land. ;) [Not that we SEAners are not actually moving toward western world :D ]

Philippines has always been part of SEAsia...well Maritime South East Asia to be exact...Philippines was more like a frontier for indo-malay kingdoms...think of Philippines as California in the early 1800s and Malaysia and Indonesia is New York and New England

I have read, just a glimpse, a blog pertaining to Dr. Zaide's interpretation of the Philippine pre-Hispanic history that the country was once called Ophir (Visayas islands). Watching the documentary struck my curiosity that this may justify what Dr. Zaide's accounted for, where in the old testament tells us that (Kings 9:26-28) King Solomon, together with the Phoenicians, set sail to Ophir to trade 420 talents with gold.
