Sirius XM: Antigay granddad responds to Lady Gaga on Michelangelo Signorile Show

In discussing the vote in the Senate on the "don't ask, don't tell" law and why it should be repealed, Victor in Oklahoma called in to respond to Lady Gaga's speech in Portland, Maine in which she said it should be the homophobes we're ejecting from the military. He genuinely seemed like he wanted to understand, at least in the beginning of his call, but then began spitting out his homophobic prattle. At least he's listening to the show.

Granddad: homoloathing is a choice. Choose love.

Also if a person is gay it is normal for them to be gay, just like it is normal for a lefthanded person to be lefthanded. And trying to change them only harms you and them. And treating them with dignity and respect is a win-win. Homoloathing has no positive outcomes.

I agree with Siruis on so many of his points. As a gay teen myself, I obviously support his views on gays in the military and the fact that homophobia is, in fact, the problem of the hater, not that of the actual gay person. The only thing I do not agree with is his assumption and almost insistent guarenteed that one of his grandsons is gay.

I'm assuming that he simply jump this issue though. After all, a homophobic grandfather "researching homosexuality" just doesn't add up...
