hi! I found your tutorials looking for ways to use square scarves in general (I'm not muslim :P). I've watched 3 of yours now, and I love the simple ways you show the hijab can be worn and be very stylish. I'm thinking showing them to some people I know to teach them the hijab is not some sort of jail! Thank you for that! (I hope I am not offending you!)

@TheCupIsNowHalfEmpty just the oppisote. lots of non-muslims, especially african american women, wear scarves to protect hair from the harmful effects of the sun and other conditions

Asalaam walaikum, sister. i love your tutorials and you're very creative. the scarves are so cute. but i have a question. i started wearing hijaab recently and i read in an article that it can cause hair loss. is this true?

I used to fear this also but I haven't experienced this. My hair texture has actually improved. Wearing the scarf too tight or pulling the hair back too tight with the underscarf can pull out the hair but as long as you're sensible about it, it shouldn't be a problem

What type of pins do you use for looser weave scarves? I find that safety pins get stuck in the scarf and create a hole.

I use quite large safety pins with looser weave scarves & don't have that problem. If there is a danger of that happening, I put in a small bead through the pin before pinning it into the scarf & then put a bead afterwards... does that make sense?
