The Airborne Squat is a movement I learned from Scott Sonnon. It's a great progression from the lunge, adding elements of strength, coordination and balance to an already excellent lower body exercise.

This type of unilateral -- using primarily one side -- bodyweight exercise is very effective in developing enhanced sports performance and reducing the risk of injury in daily life. It's also a great way of sharpening your neural sophistication and opening pathways to greater fat loss and muscle gain!

  • Did this guy used to be a body builder? His arms are very big for calisthenics training?

  • @blkettlebell LOL - I have some bodybuilder friends and they'd think that's darn hilarious... :-) I'm tiny compared to those guys... No, I've never been a bodybuilder. But I've always seemed to have naturally muscular triceps and calves. Go figure...

  • @CSTnorth Ow, Ok, maybe some people are bigger than others? I wan not making fun of you, I was just asking, I see so many people do gymnastics etc, some are big some are not etc

  • @blkettlebell Don't worry... :-) I just thought it was funny, not insulting. I'm always getting teased by my "big" friends about how small I am... LOL

  • @blkettlebell Hey. Gaining muscle is a pretty tough thing to do and, for most people, requires some pretty precise and purposeful effort. I wouldn't worry about gaining a pile of mass if that's not what you are consistently trying to accomplish.
