I built my Madagascar Gold Crust Day Gecko a vivarium. It cost me roughly $120 not including the 10 gallon tank, lid, or light. I will be uploading more videos soon and hopefully Pansho wont run into the corner =).

  • that is so nice could you make like and instruction video on how you made it. and what kind of fish and gekco is in there

  • Its actually relatively easy. All you need is three 5 pound bags of aquarium rocks, two zoo med hydroball packs, eggcrate, bamboo, and anything else u wanna add to make it look better. As soon as i save more money ill make another one and post on youtube. To build it however the first thing you do is put in the eggcrate, which keeps the hydro balls from going into the fish's water. so that it takes up roughly 1/3rd of the tank, fill the bigger side with hydroballs about 2-2.5 inches

  • and then cover the hydro balls with screen mesh. Then take two of the 5 pound bags of aquarium rocks and use the remaining rocks to fill in the smaller left hand of the tank. Note that the hydroballs flloat so u have to add the rocks ontop or your vivarium will litterally fall apart.after this u can use cocofiber, which can be bought at a pet store, to put over the blue pebbles. Cocofiber cleans the lizards waste my decomposing it. Then simply add some decoration, plants etc, into the tank.

  • Fill the tank up to the height of the eggcrate and add a 10 gallon filter in the back like i did. You can use plants to cover it up if u wish. If ur confused stop the video at 0:22 and u can see a side view of how the vivarium was laid out. Thx for watching and dont forget to rate.

  • Paddle tails spend 95% of their adult life in water... You need more water in there. I don't even have land in my tank and she seems quite happy. I just use a reptile hammock in the corner for her to sit on. She rarely does though. Nice bamboo! I love this look. I had 3 bamboo plants in my tank but 2 died so I'm down to one. I plan on getting more. I think it makes them feel better having real plants in the tank.

  • gold crust? u mean gold dust? haha i have 2
