I have one of these screwdrivers and its the most versatile tool I own..its always ready and I never have to wait...its got heaps of power and torque. This product is high quality and high technology, companies dont invest all that money to make crap products...more likely to me anyone who broke one was doing something with it that an experienced user wouldnt do...
@lin545 The flash cell looks totally lame in comparison, I think the only good thing about it was idea of capacitors instead of batteries, but you charge 90secs and work 3 mins. Its unpractical. Also its huge and the motor is weak (200-300 rpm or so, maybe 2-3v). The start was great but the finish of this idea is crap. You cannot compare TD020 to that, TD is simply nonplusultra, and this is a child toy. I have assembled and made LOTS of furniture with TD. It stops only at 10 cm M8 wood screws.
Hey, np. Just because you replied, here is my story for perfect STRONG screw driver. Im using Makita TD 020 now - it is absolutely "awesomest" thing. It is NOT for fine or small screws however. Search for the vids here. Got it for 45$. Two li-ion accus(new cost only 10$!!), recharge 10 mins, work 30 mins, heavy duty body, flashlight, bendable, 7.2volt at 2000rpm with SPECIAL transmission that engages on hard pressure, converting it to ~14v at 200rpm. LOVE IT.
IF YOU ARE SEARCHING FOR A SCREWDRIVER, READ THIS!
I have got one from ebay and, although the idea is wonderfull, has FAILED after 1 month of work. It recharges 90 secs, yes it gives good performance, but there is ONE BIG FLOP:
The transmission mechanism, that can be found at the top, untie two screws - is CRAP!!
The gears are made OF PLASTIC! That means NEVER ATTEMPT to unscrew or screw something TIGHT or HARD!! Even my 10$ battery screwdriver had transmission gears full-metal!
