@jwahh It's going to stay for now. I like it, but it wasn't exactly what I had in mind. I tried a tele out the other day that had lollars in it. It was fantastic. I might go that direction someday. The sound is bigger and rounder. For now I have to fix the short that has reappeared in my bridge pickup.

@yoFOOOOO Absolutely! Remember, there really aren't any rules. I think a bucker in the bridge and a vintage tele neck would be a good contrast to each other. I think the key is to have the neck quieter than the bridge and you'd certainly would be able to do that.

would it be alright if you purchase just the neck vintage thythm STR 1 and not match it with the bridge 54, broadcaster or a jerry donahue? like say the seymour duncan humbucker because thats what im kind of looking at buying together.

@yoFOOOOO Well, what they call the '54 is the bridge pickup. The neck pickup is just called a "vintage rhythm STR-1." It's basically the match for the vintage '54, broadcaster and Jerry Donahue pickups. So that's what I put in the neck. I already had a '54 in the bridge. I have a video about that as well if you're interested.

Thank mate - The STR-1 is on my shortlist - got a great bridge pup (Kent Armstrong) but the neck (also K/A) is oh-so-weak and sends you to sleep (zzzZZZzzz). Looking for something to make (a) the neck come alive BUT also (b) balance it out with some nice warm tones you can actually hear. Nice to hear the before and after, and to my ears a definite improvement. Good call not changing the strings etc. All the best and thanks again!

Sounds a little bright but nice and warm too. What's the verdict? Is it going to stay in that tele?
