This is a 5" rotary table that clamps in my milling vise for milling curves, putting a radius on the end of a rod, etc. It's based loosely on a design featured in Model Engineer's Workshop a number of years ago. My version is somewhat different and about half the size of the magazine version. It's all made from steel.

  • ..Very nice work..!

  • @dougspair Thx... I use it way more than my geared rotary table.

  • Nice job! Does the table spin on a bearing, boss, or?

  • @algae1000 There is a boss on the bottom of the table which is a close, rotating fit in the base. There is a circular clamp on the bottom of the boss that keeps the table in place.

  • i like it but why you made it is a lil beyond me i mean a real rotary table is mounted to table and then vice, chuck or T slot hold downs can be used to hold the work and then the table uses a gear ratio so how far you turn can then be measured and you eithere made it with CNC or a rotary table... you yanks confuse me

  • @bloutyben - I also have a commercial geared rotory table, but this one is quick to set up and easy to establish limits of rotation in both directions. Great for putting radii on the ends of parts, etc. I got the original idea from a British magazine, Model Engineers Workshop...

  • @cffellows Thanks for that explanation, I was wondering the same thing myself! I like what you made there, looks really handy. Thanks for posting!

  • three cheers...well done table...stops and handle are cool idea..laphant

  • Great device, just the type of thing I'm lloking at making. Being able to mount it in the vice makes things so much easier for quick set-ups. Thanks for sharing.

  • looks like you could play Canasta with that rig.
