After you've taken in the city's renaissance art treasures, people-watch in Milan's high-fashion shopping zone to see Italy's 21st century prosperity on parade. An hour away by train is Lake Como, Rick's favorite of Italy's northern lakes, with the best mix of accessibility, scenery, offbeat-ness — and a heady whiff of aristocratic romance. For more information on the Rick Steves' Europe TV series — including episode descriptions, scripts, participating stations, travel information on destinations and more — visit http://www.ricksteves.com.

  • the old world and alot of ancient structures still dot the cities and countrysides something you won't see here in Canada. Our oldest buildings are 150 yrs old and some are heritage sites. HERE IN VANCOUVER THERE ARE VERY FEW BUILDINGS THAT WERE BUILT BEFORE THE 20TH CENTURY THAT ARE STILL STANDING. The Holy Rosary Cathedral is a century old and is a heritage site but most older buildings were built well after the turn of the century This is the new world here & it's SNOWING & approx 1c.

  • Lake como is the most beautiful place i've ever seen in my life! the atmosphere, the people, the food! for a moment, everything felt perfect! life made sense, i know it sounds corny but it really was fantastic! if you ever get the chance to go there, then do it! i promise you, you'll love it! :-)
