WANDA COLÓN
To warm up a bedroom, personalized pillows make the perfect accessory, especially when they're made by a loved one. So what we're going to do are silhouette pillows.

VAL
Oh, cool.

WANDA COLÓN
So we have pictures of Shelby...

VAL
Our grand dog.

WANDA COLÓN
...Brandon. Your grand dog. And Brandon and Mia.

BOB
And Mia.

WANDA COLÓN
And I think that they're really cute pictures but I have to say that Shelby did the best job posing.

VAL
She always does.

WANDA COLÓN
It was kind of amazing. She saw the camera and posed.

VAL
Yeah.

WANDA COLÓN
All right, so what we're going to do is just each of us gets a piece of cardboard. And we're kind of going to do this like a production line and just unzip your pillow and put it underneath because we're going to be painting later and we don't want the fabric, the paint to go through both sides of the fabric. So that's just going to protect the bottom side of the pillow. So what we're going to do is we're going to use carbon paper to trace the image and carbon paper basically has carbon on the one side, and it's on like a waxy paper and when you trace on it, it, the image is transferred onto the material. Okay, so the first step is to take a piece of carbon paper...

WANDA COLÓN
...and we're just basically going to trace the image. So you guys can watch me do it and then I'll pass this down and then you can trace while I'm painting and then you can trace while she's painting. It's all going to be done like a production line. So, I'm going to tape Shelby's picture down so it doesn't move.

WANDA COLÓN
Let's see how it looks. Nice. So you see...

VAL
They're perfect.

WANDA COLÓN
It looks...

VAL
It came out great, yeah.

WANDA COLÓN
...so cute.

Bob
It looks just like her.

WANDA COLÓN
That's amazing. So I'm going to hand this over to you and you trace. So while you trace I'm going to get our paint ready.

VAL
Okay.

WANDA COLÓN
And I'm just basically using fabric paint. And you can get that at any craft store. So...

VAL
Yes.

WANDA COLÓN
Okay, great. And Mia gets this fabulous green color. Oh, that is adorable. So then the next step is just to basically go over the lines, make the lines a little bit darker with the fabric marker. Now you said you do a lot of crafts.
WANDA COLÓN
The next step is very easy. Now we just take our little paint and we color it in.

WANDA COLÓN
And as you can see, the paint is going on nicely. So one of the tips when you're painting on fabric is to wash the fabric first because a lot of times fabric has a little waxy feeling to it. So by washing it you take away all of that and the fibers are so ready to be painted on.

VAL
Oh, I didn't know that.

WANDA COLÓN
So, so that's basically it. Once we're finished painting them, we just stuff the pillow in it and we're finished.

Bob
Wow.

VAL
Wow, that's an easy project I guess.

Bob
It is.

WANDA COLÓN
But really cute.

VAL
Even you can do that, Bob.

Bob
Even I can do it.
