  • 1 grad degree down, 1 more to go (almost finished, too late to stop). i am lucky to have a job that requires H.S. but prefers an undergrad degree. tons of student loans (north of 100k). such is life now.

  • The same can also apply to those with just High School who are now contemplating getting a Bachelor's Degree. I've come to realize that if you get a Bachelor's, you're in all the way, you mine as well become a doctor because you'll need a Master's to be competitive. The way I see if is there are two seperate plans for a young person today: Work your butt off outta High School, live with parents, and save up as much as you can and invest or become a doctor. Not many choices.

  • You speak TRUTH.

  • Such sage wisdom. I am graduating next Saturday and I feel the same way you do. I owe loans for undergrad, but I do not want to take out more loans to get a Master's degree that is only going to contribute to the saturation of overqualified, underpaid grads. I am a humanities major, and while I am considering taking a few language classes as a post-bac student, there is no way that I am willing to take on more debt. Grad school is an escape from reality that will only indebt students further.

  • great video, jillybean. clear and lucid. let's start pressuring the government to create more jobs for us in the US and not constrain our options to have to go to graduate school and pay the loan sharks. we're doing no one a service in the middle class by saturating the market with so-called "qualifications" certificates.
