I have been through the struggle of full blown heroin addiction, this is a dark song yes, but at the same time a very bright spot for a lot of people....I FINALLY beat this satanic drug...unfortunately a lot of people did not just like Layne didn't....anyone who has fought this addiction for the most part did it on there own because everyone is hurt when you are basically killing yourself and no one wants to be killed with you...for everyone out there still trying to kick this....HAVE FAITH

I'm really happy to read you could beat it. My cousin fought his addiction for years, but couldn't make it finally. His struggle was what kept me away from it. Layne fought his deamons, but they were way too strong.

no he didnt. layne wrote almost all the lyrics except the first album. he is also responsible for about 1/4 of the music, and the song that brought alice in chains to the spotlight, Man In The Box. so shaddup
