Chief Executive hails consensus with legislators (4.7.2011)

Chief Executive Donald Tsang says he is pleased the Government and legislators have reached consensus on the former's by-election proposal. Further Legislative Council debate on the issue has been postponed until after a two-month public consultation. Mr Tsang said the Government's replacement mechanism plan for LegCo vacancies addresses public concerns by plugging loopholes that permit abuse of by-election procedures.
