@philgexile: Phil, a moment I will never forget. I was three rows away, in front of Overend and I was looking down at my roach when the lights flashed on! Mott The Hoople appeared in front of me and I could not believe my eyes.

Last time I saw Ian and The Rant band in NYC, they did "Michael Picasso" and Ronno's daughter sang backing vocals....not a dry eye in the house on that one!

This is what they opened with when I saw them in '74. Still sends shivers up my spine!

Lisa Ronson, hmmmm, is she Sam's sister...and Sam her brother? As in Lindsay Loser's besotted one. LOL.

There's more to meet the eye on the Bender story. Ralphs had already done the rehearsals for some of the tunes on 'The Hoople" EXCEPT "Golden Age"..Luth came in and had to dub his leads over them, not an easy task for even a phenom like him. Still, you're right in a sense, he blew Ralphs away on stage - and still does it seems.
Also talk about dubs. It was Luth who did the original "Saturday Gigs" recording, but Ian didn't like it. When Luth was asked to leave, Ronno came in and dubbed over it!

Bender can run circles and riffs around Ralphs. He's proven that for years!
Nope, not related. She's Mick Ronson's daughter.
