Scholarship Program Sparrow 2009

Every child has the right to have access to education. Through education basic skills are learned which can be used for a lifetime. It creates opportunities to build a future. It gives access to public services and enables you to have a voice in policy making. Furthermore education increases the chance of having a job and being able to support a family in all basic needs. Therefore education is not only a support for the pupil; it affects a whole family.

Sparrow gives children in poor families the opportunity to have access to education through financial support. Besides tuition fees Sparrow will provide practical needs such as school supplies and uniforms. The Scholarship Program is only accessible to children who are not able to go to school without this support. Sparrow will study every applicants home situation and assess if the applicant meets all criteria for receiving support.
Sparrow supports different levels of education: elementary school, high school and college. The Scholarship Program will be done in cooperation with the local authorities and services.

Sparrow is a Dutch Christian organization, based in the Philippines. Sparrow gives people practical and structural help to get out of poverty and improve their standard of living.
