Movado was seriously injured in a tragic accident last week. He suffers from a severe brain injury and it is unknown at this time whether or not he will survive. If he does, there is no way to determine how much functionality he will have. As of right now he is blind. We still very well might have to put him down even though he has survived to this point. This footage was taken in Feb. a little less than a month before his accident. It is his first time out on a marathon course, first time through water, and his first time hitched away from the farm.

  • How is he doing now? I keep coming back to look for an up-date. He really is a beautiful boy. My thoughts are with you.

  • We are hoping to get updated video footage soon and will be posting on his progress then.

  • It takes time! How is he doing now??

  • He is feeling well enough for them to do some physical therapy with him. He's doing much better with his mobility and his balance has improved as long as he doesn't try to go too fast. He is still completely blind.

  • I know this is late, but I am so very sorry for your loss. I am however, so thankful and glad that you guys had the opportunity to know, love, and trust such a wonderful horse.

    Best Wishes

  • Movado was humanely euthanized September 18, 2009 here at our farm. He began deteriorating rapidly and was becoming a hazard to himself and those around him. He had adjusted well to the blindness and other physical challenges he had, but the vets believe the damage from the injury was just too severe. It was a difficult decision after he came so far but, there at the end, you could really tell he was suffering. It was hard for us, but it was the right thing to do at the right time.

  • how is he doing now?

  • What a dream, just beautiful!! Thank you!

  • Best wishes.

  • OMG.Only just seen this. Hope he get a reasonable level of recovery to allow him a good quality of life. He was a cracking little horse. Best of luck to you all.

  • I'd love to hear how he is recovering?

  • I have tears in my eyes. The song choice could not have been more touching given the situation. There is indeed "work to be done in the darkness before the dawn." May this incredible horse live to see the dawn again with his own soulful eyes. There are no words.
