Savage 2 Map Editor Setup

* The extracting step is NO LONGER REQUIRED. So long as you place the foliage textures in the proper directory, you should be able to map without any problems.

This is just a short tutorial explaining how to set up the map editor in Savage 2. This is only required for another week or so, and will be made obsolete once the map editor is updated to load resources directly from the .s2z archives.

In case you can't read from the video, the link to the converted tga texture pack is below:

The terrain textures need to go in /savage2/world/terrain/textures.

The foliage textures need to go in /savage2/world/foliage/textures.

It's a problem with the version of the map editor included in the 2.1 installer. Check the forums for a patch.

Run editor.bat from within the program files directory.

i got a problem with the texure for foliage. The grass and all the foliage textures are pointing to the ground when i paint on them the map, how can i fix that ? And ya good vid

I'm still trying to figure out how to reproduce the problem. Can you send me a copy of your map? Other people have had the issue but it doesn't seem to affect everybody.

You might also want to check with S2Kyle (send him a private message or post in the bug reports section of the forums).
